This book is a classic Good vs Evil story told at a pace that makes putting the book down extremly hard. The good guys are the Earthers, who have to fight the Alien invaders (the bad guys, if you needed my help to figure that out!). From there the plot thickens nicely into an absorbing story. The normal padding and science garbling that some books suffer from has been eliminated, what is left is a story that developes the characters well, and makes each one a whole story onto themselves. The plot in involved but easy to follow and the references to the past and the King Arthur legends is handleded extremly well, and adds considerable readability to this and the two following books. There are twists and turns, and some ground work is laid for the next two books, which are equally as good as this one. It was designed from the outset to be a three book series, but each book can be read independantly of the others.
